The Real Side of Violent Gaming

People think that violent, bloody, or sexual games are to blame when a kid, teen, or even adult has committed a crime that was based on whatever game they were "influenced" by. It is true that the content that these violent games contain is not suitable for young children, but kids and teens under the age of 18, which is the age of the M rating on games, keep on buying them. I'll be honest, I too play M rated games even though I'm 15, but that's only because my parents are able to trust me. That's why I think that the people who are to blame are the parents, since the publishers/developers aren't the ones to blame  since that is their job by the way, to create video games of all genres. The parents should be able to teach their children to not get influenced by this games and to not mimic the actions that are committed within the game. A lot parents might disagree with me since they are just blaming their children or the producers of the game. Sure they are addictive, but that's when the parents fail at teaching the child to not get so addictive that it interfere with their other activities such as academic, athletic activities and even affect their mental and physical health.

  1. Um, I disagree, but only a little.
Have you ever tried to "teach" someone to not be influenced by something? Everything you experience influences you in some way. You can't prevent that.

But, it's true that you shouldn't blame whoever made the games. That's just...silly.
