Black Friday Gaming Records

By: Azzt3ca
On November 25, Black Friday, there were many breaking records for the gaming department since the prices were very generous to the people. As always, the Xbox 360 broke its record of units sold in Black Friday when it was able to sell approximately 1 million units and nearly 800,000 Kinect sensors were also sold and definitely made the Xbox this year's winner in sales. Although Nintendo has done quite poorly throughout the year, there were lucky enough to have actually broken records, too. Nintendo has sold over 500,000 units of the Nintendo 3DS portable gaming system which increased by 325% from November 6 as well as over 535,000 of the long awaited game of the newest Zelda game and having their new game of their famous series of Mario Kart, Nintendo has the opportunity to survive in the gaming industry. Although the PS3 with its prices, they have not posted any sales of their profits, which leads to believe that something is wrong or correct, but who knows. The bright side for the PS3 is that its games were able to sell really well, and its not only the PS3, but also the Xbox and Wii, since some of the most highly rate games where having their prices cut by 50% most of the time. The game console market was completely dominated by Microsoft which makes up about 44% of the market itself, but the PS3 and Wii aside were also successful.

Rumors

In October, as everyone knows the iphone 4s was released with great success. Now most people although happy with the new improvements were disappointed. There had been multiple rumors going around about the release of the iphone 5 and that is what everyone was expecting at the reveal not the iphone 4s. Apple’s stocks dropped because of this but quickly regained their value. At first, there were problems and bad rumors about the 4s but they were quickly resolved also. Now the rumors about the iphone 5 are back again and consumers are ready for a launch that may not come until the summer of 2012. Early before the release of the 4s rumors were spreading around about a iphone with a four inch screen instead of the usual 3.5 inch screen. These rumors are back again. Pictures have been seen of what looks to be the screen of an iphone that is about 4 inches. There have also been reports that these larger screens are starting to be produced and shipped for assembly. Other rumors say that this larger screen will have fewer pixels per inch compared to the 3.5-inch screen. A different rumor has said that the iphone 5 will have a metal casing. Only one thing is consistent, there are going to be new and interesting changes to come of Apple’s iphones and ipads.

Ipad Facebook App

By Nobody
Facebook has more than 800 million active users, it is a phenomenon, a pleasant surprise to all of its users, yet it is not as accessible as it should be. The iPad, an astounding creation, which many thought at first as a joke, now continues to reach towards countless pleased users. Now the two finally morph together, Facebook has finally released an app on the iPad, to be more accessible and more efficient among its users. Yet apps have come in many different shapes and forms, and creating a gargantuan business, ranging from cheap games, to travel guides, apps have become a part of our daily lives. Why would a company, especially such a dominating company wait until now, after so many years, to extend its overwhelming reach? I honestly do not know. There is an entire phone that makes it simpler to access Facebook, the HTC Status, has a button so that customers can instantly share information on Facebook. It has already been a year, six months, and seven days, since the iPad, came out, and Facebook is years old. But, on the bright side, compared to many phones, this tablet app, is much more efficient and user friendly, one can enjoy the entire Facebook experience on their fingertips.

Leads

By Nobody

In today's modernized society we as humans depend increasingly more on technology to drive and inspire us, yet it seems like since many of us grew up with new technologies we underestimate the power that they give over us. We have always worship the CEO's and the companies, but we do not even think about the specific individuals working for us. To fully understand it's grand impact over us, we walk in to one of the lives of an underrated yet productive member of society.

Feature Lead

By:Azzt3ca
He knew what his choice was when he had the chance to buy the console. However, his younger brother got the better end of the deal and he himself made the decision. Francisco then decided that he would live with what his brother has done and get used to it. He eventually got the hang of it, but has still questioned his brother’s decision.

It's 2020 at three in the morning when Zach wakes up in his bed to the smell of eggs and sizzling bacon. His personal robot named CHARLIE has just entered the room holding a tray of a nice hot breakfast served seemingly cooked by a master chef. This is what most suspect to be the future of robotics but Paul D'angio of the RoMeLa lab at Virginia Tech says this will not happen anytime soon.
In today's modern society robotics are starting to play an increasingly more important role on society as it progresses. Today most robots are seen in cars, schools, and in the military. AI continues to progress but is limited by the speed of processors and the brains of those who program them.

Google launches their own music site

Wednesday Google launched their own music sharing site for the first time after two years of start and stop work. The launch went smoothly for an innovative leap but still is said to hold no ground with iTunes by some. The new site gives users free full-length previews of songs and albums for one time though. Google plus users then can also share music suggestions over the site. This shared music though can only be heard once by Google plus users while other programs such as spotify which allows users to sample whole songs for months before having them sign a subscription. Google did manage to get a few record labels to sign contracts but were not able to sign on Warner’s music label and other indie labels. Not having these labels means Google is missing a suspected quarter of the whole market. Google music is a good idea but is lacking some of the features other companies give to consumers. This puts Google at a disadvantage in the internet music market. At this time Google, music is no opponent of   iTunes but in time may prove to be a formidable opponent.

Batman Arkham City Review

By: Azzt3ca
Batman Arkham City was released on October 18 and is the sequel for Batman Arkham Asylum which is developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. This game has been noticed to be in development even when Arkham Asylum was still being developed since there was a hidden easter egg that showed a map of something called Arkham City within Gotham. The main story is based around Batman's imprisonment in Arkham City which is a super prison five times bigger than that of Arkham Asylum. This game has been receiving universal critical acclaim, making it one of the most highly rated games of this year. Arkham City's gameplay involves stealth and predator tactics besides hand on hand combat and the usage of gadgets is also included. Fortunately, most of the gadgets from Arkham Asylum are already unlocked from the beginning and is also introducing new gadgets as well. The story is a year after the events at Arkham Asylum and the super prison was left to Hugo Strange, which is one of the main villanous protagonists of this game besides the Joker. The Joker doesn't do a lot since he's been stricken with some sort of disease which is slowly killing him. New to the "series" is the ability to use another playable character, which is Catwomen who also has her own plot within the main plot of the game. The graphics, gameplay, and story are all enhanced greatly since the last game and should receive a 9.5 out of 10.

The Next Generation of Grand Theft Auto

By: Azzt3ca
Its been four years since the last Grand Theft Auto game (GTA IV) and fans have been waiting for another masterpiece from Rockstar North and Rockstar Games. On November 2, the debut trailer for Grand Theft Auto V was released on YouTube and has left a lot of unanswered questions for many people. Fans were amazed that this video wasn't just another trolling, fake video, but this new open world action-adventure game will be set a fictional city called Los Santos in the state of San Andreas, which is based on modern-day Los Angeles and Southern California. Although Rockstar North didn't develop Grand Theft Auto III, it has risen the expectations of many people since the GTA games are coming along every so often. And it has since its been ten years since GTA III, the gameplay, graphics, and story have greatly improved since GTA III into GTA IV, so fans are expecting the same action of crafting the best out of GTA IV, and improving for GTA V. Another similar game to the GTA franchise is the Saints Row franchise which has shown promise in the upcoming game, Saint Row The Third. Developers/producers of Saint Row The Third state that they are not afraid of the release of GTA V next year, but since both games haven't been released yet, no one is sure what is the potential of these games. Another rumor was that GTA V was to be a launch title for the next generation of consoles, which would be the "Xbox 720", "PS4", and the Wii U.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

By Nobody:
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has been long anticipated after the widespread success of Call of Duty: Black Ops, and of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and now on November 08, 2011, fans do not have to wait anymore. Yet many among many have wondered whether or not this game would bring back previous satisfactions, brought back from earlier games. What fans have commented on, gives us good news of the game, and although the plotline to the finale may have been short, it seems as if it is well worth it. Creative Strategist Robert Bolling, had planned to make this game more engaging for single and multiplayer. He had noticed that in the previous games, most players would only focus on one of the two excellent choices, he has chosen with these games to make them more interlinked into each other. One other thing is that instead of choosing traditional locations such as Afghanistan, the game seems to be reaching towards a wider range, reaching from Manhattan, London, to even Berlin. The gameplay as always is thrilling with endless action, providing the gamer to go through endless excitement, throughoutt the entire game. Until the next game users will be greatly satisfied with the newest edition.

New 4s causes big hype.

Recently the new IPhone 4s has been covering websites all over the web. One major topic of discussion was the supposed low battery life reported by consumers. Apple made no comment on these accusations of battery life below the specs. Consumers began to speculate on the causes of these problems. Suggested problems include the new program siri draining the battery or the GPS system sucking up power tracking your every movement. These problems have been shot down though after consumer reports gave the thumbs up on the 4s’s battery life after rigorous testing. One other problem that is more important is the IPhone bug in Apple’s mobile OS.  This bug has many serious threats to the user and the device. For starters, the bug opens up the possibility for hackers to gain access to information on the phone. This information includes people’s photos, contacts, and texts by taking over apps on the device. The hack or bug allows the hacker to change and take over the code in the apps, which go undetected by apple. Apple has said that they are working on a solution to the problem but have made no comment on the issue.  The security and trust that has been bestowed on the app store may fall as hacks and bugs may turn consumers away.

Another Accusation?

By Nobody :
Mark Zuckerberg, the young age CEO of Facebook, has been under hot water before with complaints about privacy issues, but also with the movie the Social Network, which led many to believe that he has very selfish goals and intentions. Now this may happen again, as there are claims reporting that he is more dishonest than many believe he truly is, in fact these claims are pretty huge, a man by the name of Paul Ceglia, claims that Mark Zuckerberg had in fact deleted many e-mails regarding the two of them having a friendship, and the claim that the man owed half of Facebook. But to avoid controversy the CEO had avoided these, but in turn has made his efforts counterproductive since now he is being claimed to have deleted e-mails from his Harvard e-mail account. In fact Paul claims that Zuckerberg had agreed with Paul, and had signed a contract with a man that he would gain a good portion of Mark’s income since the two of them have supposedly worked together for the creation and design, of the overwhelming, and dominating website known as Facebook. In fact there are dozens of e-mails that support the man. Will Mark Zuckerberg survive these attacks?

The Future of Portable Gaming

The PS Vita will be releasing next year in North America & Europe on February 22. This eight generation hand held console will be the Nintendo3DS's rival as it too has been releasing descent games. The PS Vita has two analogs sticks like the PS3 controller, a 5-inch OLED multi touch touchscreen, and supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and optionally, 3G. The Vita also has LiveArea software which succeeds the XcrossMediaBar and impresive core/graphics processors. This device will be able to be backwards-compatible with any PlayStation Portable games that are digitally released on the PlayStation Network via the PlayStation Store. Not only does it have dual analog sticks, but also a rear touchpad, sixaxis motion sensing, three-axis electronic compass, front & back cameras, and obviously a d-pad. The PS Vita will be released in two different versions, one model with the normal Wi-Fi capabilities at $249.99, and the Wi-Fi plus 3G model at $299.99. Now on to more upcoming software for the Vita, games such as Uncharted, Killzone, Wipeout, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, Call of Duty, and many others will be releasing right after the Vita does. In addition to being backwards-compatible, it will also support PlayStation Minis, PlayStation Suite games, PSOne classics, videos, and comics from the PlayStation Store. Other special features that the Vita will include are apps such as Facebook, Skype, Twitter and others will be downloadable from the PlayStation Store.

The Flexibiliity of the Future

Nokia just recently had a press release for their new flexible screen, which will be featured on mobile devices soon. The screen can be twisted like a piece of plastic. This twisting motion can actually control actions on the device such as zooming in or out. This new feature when combined with a touch screen in my opinion combines nicely to make an easy to use device that is durable. Devices with this flexible screen will be more durable as I said because they could bend and twist absorbing the force of an impact for example if you dropped it on the floor. Instead of getting cracks all over your screen, you would be able to pick up your device and keep going without worry. These are not the only uses for a flexible screen, as parts continue to get smaller and screens become more and more flexible imagine what could come. There may be flexible screens that can roll out from pocket sized to a tablet or phones that have screens, which can fold out into a tablet. The possibilities are practically endless. As technologies advance you may even end up with fabric, which has a screen embedded within so all you have to do is look at your arm, and talk to a person for say. As more and companies and corporations begin to research these screens innovations will continue to come out fueling the human need for more.
